Weltek Limited has landed a Topsides project with Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Comany (SNEPCo) in its flagship
BONGA FPSO located some 120 KM offshore, Nigeria. The water depth of the field ranges from 1070 to 1200 meters. The
project is the first Shell Deepwater brown field sub-sea tie-back in Nigeria, thus making Weltek the first wholly-owned Nigerian
company to work on such a project. The contract for the Topsides modifications, includes the engineering, procurement,
onshore fabrication and offshore installation, hook-up, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start up support to SNEPCo.
The Bonga Northwest field is located in Oil Mining Lease (OML) 118, some 120 km offshore, southwest of Warri and is to the
northwest of the existing Bonga FPSO. The initial phase of the project comprises the drilling of five new sub-sea wells. The
fabrication and installation of some of the Topsides facilities by Weltek will form part of the major work of the next shutdown
window on the Bonga FPSO.
